Do you have an aftermarket deck? You can run the switched wire from the light blue cable...

negative on the aftermarket head unit. And I plan on KEEPING the stock one.

The best theft deterrent is not having anything worth stealing in sight, right?
For now, I tapped it into the light wire, the one that turns the dash lights on for the ac/heater/fan switches, so to have my amp on now i need to have my lights on, which is fine for now.

run a wire from the batt and put a switch on it. that what i did. that way you can turn it of and listen to music when your mom's in the car. i did it cause my wife whines. did you run your wires yet? since you're keeping the stock, you got a RF modulator? i think you are doing the same thing i did, the stock radio works just fine for it.

yea, everythings ran. I've had it working now for some time. And if I was going to runa switched power line i wouldn't pop off the battery, i'd just use the cig lighter or something, not as much wire to run then. I may just end up doing that eventually.

Yeah, why would you run two wires from the battery? And just switch one? If you ever leave that switch on, your fucked.

Running the amp off lights aint a bad idea. Redneck power switch. But what happens when you drive after dark? lol

This might sound dumb, but why not just use the red wire behind the factory radio? After all, it is what controls the radio on/off. I do presume you're using an amp with an actual turn-on signal connection?

Turn-on signal connection.....wow, wish my ex had one of those.

what do you mean? I tapped into the light that turns on the dash lights for the a/c and other stuff. No harm there.
As for driving during the day,I usually always have my lights on anyways, so it's no matter. Lights on for safety, right?
