its an 2005 he cant do "the big 3" can he? i thought it was only for the drive by wire foci
The big three is new/bigger wire from the alternator, to the battery. Battery, to the chassis, and engine block, to the chassis.

I have a 4 gauge wire premade for the alternator to the battery if you want it rbrommel. You can pay shipping, or come and get it. The other 2 are easy to make.

You seriously don't need a cap. Some argue it doesn't even help. I would do the big three, and a nice or second battery..
i didn't know that, i will have to look this up, so you can do this to a zetec as well? i dont know why but i thought this was only for the brand new foci....hmmm :?
rbrommel wrote:Dang, that was a lot of information. First off, i've never heard of the big three and i know absolutely nothing or cars in general for that matter. If it weren't for Pepsi50195 i wouldn't be in this game due to my own auto incompetence. So i'm leaving it up to Matt (Pepsi) on this three thing or a cap. I'm so confused... :(
yeah...no offense Rob, but when you tell him to do something your really just tell me to do something to his car.....but he is an awesome tool bitch...sorry had too Rob! :lol:

Brax should make something right up your alley if it's looks and performance you want, but you pay for it.

Personally I'd just make sure the charging system is up to snuff as well as the grounds and run a second battery with a battery isolator. I really have no input on batteries other than maybe Lightning Audio (I just got the shivers saying that).

Sometimes I find things in the oddest locations, big 3 -> http://www.the12volt.com/installbay/for ... 73496~PN~1

can someone explain to me why it is that a Capacitor supposedly doesn't do anything. I had it on my old system in my truck and it absolutely made a difference. What i had before was a massive system, but when it would really pound without the caps all my lights would dim and once i got the caps i never had any issues with any power drains or lights dimming and such

A cap holds energy, then quickly dis-charges it. Then it has to charge back up again. It gets the energy from your alternator/battery, so what is it really helping? It doesn't magically get energy from nowhere, or increase the amount of energy your car already has... Make sense?

My car now has about 1700 watts rms going through it, and the lights barely dim at full tilt. All I have is the big three, and proper grounding for my amps.

I have a pre-made 4 gauge alternator to battery wire if you want it. That will take care of the hardest wire to do in the big three.

I see what you mean. I won't be home for about a month, in which I'll probably be deciding with Matt's help which route I'm going to go, if i do the Big 3 I'll def. hit you up for that wire. Thanks
