The Taurus tranny is a little different then our MTX75's so you wouldn't be able to use the MTX75 necessarily on the 3.8 or 4.0. Not to mention the 24v 3.0 is an extremely efficient v6. I doubt the 4.0 Ranger engines make even close to the same hp per liter. The biggest advantage of the 3.0 swap is that you don't have to do any wiring changes. Just swap a few sensors and get a tune. Heck people drive them without even getting a tune and the pcm can make up the difference for the bigger engine.
