ouch, i feel for you, I had a similar problem occur last year. You can get a new pigtail set and replace the stock one with a simple solder job. Unfortunately I don't have time to give you a hand but it should be relatively easy if you've soldered before.

where do i got to get a new pigtale set dealership?
yeah, I had the same problem when I got my car. The PO had just painted ( ) over the warning light. You just go to the dealership, get a new pigtail, and solder it in. It doesn't take long. If I weren't so far away, I'd help, but...
Well, with the ford pigtails, they give you some nice chunks of heat shrink tubing, the stuff with glue in it, so, if you can't solder, you just twist them together really good and heat the heatshrink.
You can use a lighter, just don't get too close or hold it in 1 spot too long...just make sure you get it nice and even all the way around the heat shrink...
