do you have a narrow band A/F gauge installed? if so i'm sure you can run it at low boost as long as you dont lean out.
There are a few SPI guys at Focal Jet running a mail order SCT tune with their stock 19lb injectors and stock maf in an SVT maf housing and running 5 -6 psi and aren't leaning out.
So as long as you can slightly monitor your A/F ratios and control your boost levels with out over boosting then you should be fine.

But really if he sets the waste gate for wide open all the time, and doesnt boost it would be fine to run.

Doughboy drove his car to Michigan on the stock tune, if you limp it to hitech you should be okay. Just make sure you don't hit boost. We could also leave the injectors out and put them in at the dyno and come up with a ghetto short ram in the mean time.
