For sale in Elk River/Big Lake, an entire 92 Escort LX 4 door 5 speed, with a Zetec motor installed and running. I've put about 500 miles on it since the motor swap, and now the tranny has problems. Only 1, 3 and 5 gear's work, no 2, 4 or R. The body (rusty) and tranny (original) have about 130k miles. The Zetec motor is a 98 or 99, cant remember right now, and only has about 55k miles (I still have the paper work on the engine). There is a brand new Spec Stage one performance clutch kit installed. The body is rough, and tires are shot. For me, I just dont have the time or want to spend the money for a new tranny and rubber for it. But it would be perfect for some one with a clean 91-96 LX that wants or needs a new motor. Also, several parts are 98 or newer, like the radiator, alternator, belt, power steering pump and battery. It also has a Focus shorty header installed.
The car still drives, serious buyers can come and listen to it run, test drive it kick the tires or what ever you need to do. It has a clean title, and new tabs. A/C is functional, but does'nt blow very cold. The CEL does come on any time your above 2500 RPM'S or so, because the cam signal is off between the CVH and VCT Zetec motor, but it does'nt see to effect it's performance, it pulls nice to a little over 6k.

I can take more pic's if some one is interested. Keep in mind this is only for 91-96lx's. And is wired to use your original 1.9 ECU and use your 5 speed 1.9 tranny.

$500 or B/O For the entire car.
8v SPI and proud of it.

i dont know if you were looking to fix the problem but it sounds like a shift linkage problem...might be easier to sell with that fixed.

Well, its kind of is a shifter linkage problem, but internal...becasue bit's of differential is jammed in it.
The spidar gears are the weakest part of these tranny's, and the shifter mechinizem is directly below the differential, so broken bit's fall and jam the shifter up.
