won't start after rain..

Car: 2003 Ford Focus ZX3
Location: Cottage Grove, MN

everytime it rains, my car wont start. at first, it would start and then run roungh for a while. then it would start and then die when i put it in gear. and now this time it rained and the car will turn over but wont catch and start at all. any ideas anyone??

Check your coil and coil wiring, the coil may be cracked and the moisture can screw it up.

Do you get all your lights and so forth, if not I am gonna sound like a parrot, check your grounds, check your grounds anyway. Especially to the starter.
Slower than your stock focus.

Oh, and check your grounds. 8)

And what did you run for cable to the rear? I've seen battery cables corrode inside the insulation and cause this exact issue. YOu would never know anything was wrong unless you cut open the insulation to see if it shiny copper or nasty green.

turns out a plug wire had cracked or worn or something and come a little loose, allowing some moisture in. i bought new plug wires and it started up like the day i bought it. thanks for the help guys. i guess we will get the real test next time it rains!
