My wife just passed an accident in Jordan off 169S. Apparently a motorcycle hit a train. Not sure how this could happen. The rider did not survive. I am not sure exactly where this was, as there are many dirt road crossings that do not have normal train crossing signals/arms. I suspect it must have happenned at one of the sign only crossings. I can't remember ever hearing of a train hitting a bike. Either the guy thought he could beat it, he didn't want to beat it, or?

Probably trying to beat the train, when I lived on Como ave in St Paul there was a crossing about two blocks away and a kid got hit on his bike crossing the tracks and got killed.
Trains ALWAYS win. Very sad.

Usually when I read about motorcycle accident i say, yeah it happens. This struck me as strange when i read it and my heart felt heavy, weird.
The person that was killed is the father of my wife's uncle's step children (weird connection, but we have met him before). We got the call earlier today. He leaves behind 2 boys that have their own struggles. I just pray that they are okay going forward. This is gonna be a tough year.

Apparently he was trying to stop before the train got to the crossing, but he was going a little to fast. He hit a curb or something and landed on the tracks. He could not get off the tracks in time to save himself. We have not talked to the kids yet. They have both stayed over at our house before.
