Just thought I'd pass on that the new jumbo jet from Airbus has landed at Minneapolis/St Paul Intl, and is parked at the Humphrey terminal tonight. Tomorrow, Nov 27th, you can watch it take off at 10 AM and land somewhere around Noon. Unfortunately no public access is granted to it, but there are some pretty good spots to watch it in action. Some say go to the Cemetary off of Post Road or the top of the parking garage at the Humphrey Terminal, but you'll have to pay there.
There's probably not too many airplane lovers here, but I thought I'd let ya'll know!!

I'm excited for the 787 too, I have a cousin that helped design it and since I'm in flight training right now, I hope one day I could land a job in a 787! Lofty goals, I know...

I was out on the ramp watching that mofo take off, its honestly not that big once you get up close to it. the 747 is still longer, this is just taller and fatter.

but its just weird being up close to it, its still not really that big.

I use to work on aircraft at Boeing Field in Everett, WA. I remember seeing the 777 for the first time. It didnt look big from the hangar, then I walked up to it and realized that the engines were still 13 feet off the ground. As I walked onto it (we were modding them, new from Boeing) It was just the shell, no seats or anything else. It was friggen huge and impressive. It is sometimes hard to get perspective until you are under that power plant.
Slower than your stock focus.
