I'm thinking about taking the cover/mats off my fire wall and hood. Any reason why I shouldn't? All they do is collect dirt and crap, and it'll clean things up.

it depends, i had no hood mat on mine and the paint went to shit from the heat, some dont, some do. as for the fire wall, i took mine out on the motor swap and now i wish i had left it in, my feet get soo hot when crusin uni. i have the super doot cat for the svt, but still it cuts down on heat and noise.

keep them on or replace them with something a little nice./ I know dynamat makes a hood liner. cut to size, prep, and stick it on. keeps the temps and noise way down, and it looks alot better then the stock junk.

after mid 02 they stoped using them, sept on the svt, to cut cost. if you look hard enough youll find they, in 01-02 shortened the throttle cables for 2 reasones, one cut cost, two stop a gas pedal vibe. also in late 02 they cut about half the sound deadener they used in the foci.
