GRRRRRR
I am so pissed and poor! I just dropped $450 for an new lock cylinder for the focus. At 60k that should not be happening. Right about now i'm debating what lake I should dump the damn thing in or how much damage I need to cause to total the little money leach. Maybe we could make it a get togeather..but then I would need a ride home

It's not so much how much it costs, its the fact that my wife is home for one more week before she goes back to iraq and then i leave for Iraq in 3 weeks. So my time is very important to me ya wanker! Sitting around twittling my thumbs for two day isn't exactly making the most of my time. Money doesn't mean shit

If that is the case you need to get on the phone with your Foci friends here and get out to get things done. I know people are willing to help, that's why we are here.

Oh and yeah, I am a Gulf war vet. Good luck to ya.

I was in the Navy, I was An Avionics Technician-I was a very comfortable bench technician working on F-14A-D fire control systems. I had A/C in our shop at a nice 52 degrees while we were in the Gulf and it was 120+++ out on the roof of the Carrier. I joined the Navy because i didn't want to tote a gun in the desert.

if yer talkin about a igniton cyl.... you got ripped off!!!!!!!!!! the part is like 46 bucks through steve and it would of taken 2 hours tops( even if i had to slide hammer the old one out) i would of charged like 20 bucks to do it....sorry man . if its the door lock you still got ripped off most places charge a hour alone to pull the door panal. i charge 20 an hour for intricate jobs of such for big jobs i charge like 40 an hour but still alot cheaper.. for club members i may do it ,as long as the person is learning sumptin, for free!!!.. and remember i got lock cyls from the rollover they can be repined!! next time give me a ring 8) 60 thou for a ign/lock cyl is not very uncommon on the foci

igniton cyl... yup. I'm kinda kicking myself if the butt cuzz i didn't do my homework, and I got raped because of it. That is horrible to have that sort of problem at such low mileage. They keyed the cylinder to fit the keys I have. The part cost 97 the towing cost 65 and the rest was labor. This is the first time I've seen anything like this on the mnfocus forum so atleast other people (hopefully) won't make the same mistake I did. :?

I have heard about this problem on FJ, the lock cylinder feels like a turd. If mine ever goes out, I want to replace it with an early 90's ford cylinder;)

the rebuild cyl is more like the 2000 mustang its a non eruo style some times you have to slide hammer them out , i would not recogmend a non pro doing it , every time that has happened they have broke the colum. if any one needs help wit dis i have a lot of experance doing this job... it was the crap job so it got tossed to the new guy( me) most of the time... and i actualy enjoy doing new cyls i like to repin them its relaxing.
