MTX-75 Fluid

Ok, after checking out my brake fluid in the calipers(can you can nasty), I decided lets try to change the trans fluid next, maybe this will end my notchyness...
I got a hair over 42k on the clock, I am debating what to use for fluid.
Some say to use that mt-m4-?? fluid, some same use a synthetic ATF fluid, I was at royal purple's site, for the ford spec number WSD-M2C200-C, they say to use 10w-40 SAE(motor oil).
I wouldn't mind getting my hands on the ford fluid...
Royal Purple might be had locally at one of the napa's...
Mobil1 synthetic fluid can be had at wal-mart along with oil for my next change...
I am not sure what to go with, what is everyone else running?

Call your local Ford hook up (or Steve) and get the Ford Honey. It is the best for the MTX-75.
The only alternative that Terry Haines suggested was Royal Purple Synchromax (I believe that was it).
Terry lectured me on my choice of fluid.

i put some Amsoil manual tranny fluid (5w30?) in about 6 months ago, and it seems like pretty good stuff

May seem okay now, but it won't long term. You see Terry Haines is the MTX-75 guru. I will use what he suggests since he is the man.
He is currently building a custom transmission for a Contour that will run at the Bonneville Salt Flats later this year (that is an MTX-75 tranny btw).

i put in the ford honey, its recommended, granted its 17 bucks a quart, but you don't wanna skimp on one of the most important parts of your drivetrain

How hard is it to change on our cars, I haven't had to do it before. I definately want to before I hit the track again too. Pretty easy to do?

I am not sure what they recommend for change interval, my car isn't here so I can't check the manual, but, since I bought car, I have not been overly impressed with the shifting characteristics of it, and, a lot say that the fluid will make a huge differance.
I guess there was also a TSB that said all mtx-75 trans are required to use this new fluid.
Next up, find a clutch that has nice feedback so I can tell if I am pushing on the clutch pedal or not

The MTX is horrible in cold weather, My Getrag is like butter in comparison although when it got down to double digit below zero this witer even the Getrag got REAL stiff until it warmed a bit.
The Ford stuff is p/n XT-M5-QS $14.58 per quart from me.

Every 6 miles

Or 6 months, it depends on if you do it 1/8th or 1/4 mile at a time

It doesn't matter if you win by an inch or a mile...oh, shit, wrong speech...
