My Dad's response after seeing that video

"Interesting. The Boss 429 (which the engine in this car was based on) was Ford’s hemispherical combustion chamber motor to compete directly with the Chrysler 426 Hemi in NASCAR. The Ford 427 SOHC (also a hemi engine) was another answer to the Chrysler Hemi, but Chrysler lobbied NASCAR to not allow overhead cam engines, hence the development of the Boss 429. The 427 SOHC had a lot of success in drag racing, but the NHRA eventually ruled out ohc engines too."
