Haven't been here in a while...
So, I'm in the market for a smaller car to use for work. I'm driving about 600 miles a week. I have it narrowed down to these two at the moment.
2005 Focus ST
130,000 miles
$5,000
2003 ZX5 SVT
120,000 miles
$5,000
Just looking for opinions, feedback, advice, all that good stuff. Thanks fellas. Hope all has been well with you guys.
2005 ST or 2003 SVT ZX5?

If your looking for mileage and a cheaper fuel bill get the ST. They would be pretty close in mpg but theSVT uses premium fuel.

I imagine the ST would be cheaper/easier to find parts for too.

Knowing your previous history with cars I'd say get the one you can sell more easily.
Get the ST, it's going to get better mileage and it requires less maintenance.

Haha, yeah. My track record has only gotten worse. I owned the 2005 ST when I was on here and it did get very good mpg. But I remember there not being enough leg room on the rightside. My right knee would rub on the console kinda where the radio is and that was irratating. At that time, you guys were telling me that the SVT driver seat goes a little further back and offers more legroom. So I looked and looked for one, but didn't find one at the time and bought something else instead.FORDSVTPARTS wrote:Knowing your previous history with cars I'd say get the one you can sell more easily.![]()

I'd like the extra legroom, so I think outta these two choices I'll go for the SVT.
Does the SVT come with a factory sub like the ST did? as far as mpg's, I'd be happy with anything over 24ish. I just sold my truck yesterday, that I have been using for work for the past 6 months or so, that got 12 miles to the gallon. Ugh.
The ZX5 SVT is in good shape it seems, and I like at it's a 4 door. Anyways... That's the update. Open to questions or comments. Thanks for the feedback so far.

A ZX5 will have exactly the same legroom as the ST.
The extra legroom comes with the three door, the ZX3 seats go back farther than the ones in the sedan and five door hatch.
