I'd say all to a degree. I know Forest Lake Ford one said that a particular Contour had a V6 in it, when they said it had a 16 valve motor. I told the guy to get a calculator and do the math, then waited and laughed.
Some sales people have no business selling cars, most of the ones I have talked to can read you the window sticker. The ones I deal with can tell me shit off the top of their head that isn't found on any window sticker.

I agree, a lot of car salesmen have no clue about cars. Rather embarrassing when you know way more about a particular car than the salesmen.

The sad part is 90% of the people buying cars know nothing about cars and believe what the salesman tells them.
