Non Focus discussion. Pretty much other cars and off topic stuff.

I'm sure most of you have kept up with the story on the Focus RS purchased by a member on FocalJet and Jalopnik.

This article contains the best typo ever seen:

Once safely into the United States, they head straight for San Antonio and a Chili's parking lot full of Focus and Mazda enthusiasts from the local chapters of the Focus Fantastics and Focaljet online communities. That's where Jalopnik joins the crew.

I've never understood why Ford didn't call it the Focus TS.

Meaning torque steer.

Too many differnt magazines, TV shows and individuals have given the RS rave reviews to not believe the hype...I'd love one of these in my garage and I can't believe you wouldn't too.

I'd LOVE to have an RS in my garage, even an ST would be awesome.

I'd consider it, if they made it a sedan. But I don't have to worry at all, I don't see Ford-NA bringing over a plastic hatchback that could out perform their precious redneck Mustang.

I will agree with this. There would be alot of upset 25-70 year old men getting whipped by a "Focus"

Do I sense a little bitterness? That car is killer, no 2 ways about it.
Also, Mustangs are getting better every year for some time now. (305hp V6!) If things keep going the way they've been trending, they'll soon have as much cachet as they ever did in the 60's. Even today, "redneck mustang" is not fair to a lot of the current owners. Though, I think you're right about Ford not wanting it to compete with the Mustang. However I can see it come over as something like a "Tracer GT" for Mercury. Either way, rumor has it that there will be an SVT version of both the Focus and the Fiesta. So that is almost as good.
