can i modify the stock deck in my zx3?

What do you want to do with it? I would replace it. I just sold my stock single disk blaupunkt mp3 stereo.

im just curious how the stock deck is removed, possibly just to replace it with another better deck

You need to get the U-shaped deck removal tools, stick em in, push em outwords, give it a good yank, its home free.

Then you need to get a wire harness for your new deck, and, antenna adapter and a dash kit, what year is your car?

I have the scoshe kit, it looks nice, but, I don't like how insecure my deck is in there.

Metra has a more secure kit, but, it is not as "good looking" some may say as the scoshe kit.

So, its up to you. If you have an 05, I have a ring to allow you to mount 2 1 din units, I was going to use it, but, decided against it.
