i just received a speeding ticket going 74 in a 35, the officer only ticketed me for 31+ mph ticket, no wreckless driving, but he checked the "endangerment" box, im wondering if anyone has gotten this ticket and what might happen since it is a ticket that requires me to go to court instead of just pay a fine, i hope they dont take my license away :/...also on a side note i have a ticket 2 weeks prior for 80 in a 55 :/ doesnt help right...and yes im dumb and dont learn, before everyone comments on that part of it

1: everyone will comment on that anyways, because we will attempt to burn it into your head.
2: a 25 & a 31 over all in a month. You better get a public defender or a lawyer to go with you to keep your license.
I personally have a LOT of speeding tickets, and I don't learn either. Ont he other hand, I have never done anything along those lines. I have had a 34 over once, but all my others are around 5-10 over and there are large gaps apart. Talk to someone about it prior to going to court. So you know what your best chances are. I would bet they WILL try to take your license do to the high speed and especially the endangerment.
WTF were you doing? please tell me you were kicking the shit out of a Honda. If you say you were just screwing around alone and got caught, you should definitely know better.
Good Luck man. I can try to provide help if i come into more info, but there are a few others on here that will give better advice than I.

Suspension is imminent. It's an automatic 30 day suspension if you have three moving violations in 18 months, so if you've had any other tickets (I assume you have), you're screwed. I know from experience, I've had at least 8 speeding tickets, but nothing in the last five years. :D

This is gonna sound cruel, but I mean it in the best way. Perhaps losing your license for a bit is the best thing for you. Obviously tickets don't affect your habits, so maybe losing your license will. Driving that much over the limit is irresponsible and reckless. You need to slow down before you hurt someone or yourself! Go to court, accept responsibility, and hopefully you will learn from this and slow down.
Let's go boating.

Go in to court, talk to the prosecutor, if you don't like what he has to say get a public defender, if you do go for whatever the prosecutor offers you. When you get a public defender you will at least buy some time before license suspension. Whatever you do, don't just plead guilty and pay it.

When I had my camaro I was taking a left at a light and was on it a bit (84 z28, 130 hp only!) and hit a sandy spot and the back kicked out. Normally would never kick out. My luck there was a cop at the light. Went to court for it and he had pictures of "my tire marks", I explained to the prosecutor that my car could barely do that if I tried. He showed me the pics and I responded with the fact that corner has been open for over 5 yrs, and would like to see the video of my car making those marks. It could have been any car in over a 5 yr span. I got a reckless down to an unreasonable acceleration at least.

Good luck, and SLOW DOWN.

I think your screwed, when you go to court, they will bring up your driving history as far back as it helps their case, and it really helps them that you got a 25 over 2 weeks prior to a 39 over. I would just expect to lose your DL for a little while, along with upto $1000 fine or quite possibly jail time. That little endangerment box being checked automatically upgraded your speeding ticket to a misdemeanor.

Before you go to the first appearance, get some sort of lawyer, or a public defender at your first appearance.

Next, SLOW DOWN. If you continue to get tickets while trying to fight this one, they are going to laugh you right to your jail cell.

I wish you the best of luck, but I don't think it'll work out in your favor to well, judging by my and other's I know experiences.

on your 4th ticket in a year you get a 30 day suspension. they won't take it for a 31 over, unless you were going 100+. go to court, get a public defender and see what they can work out. then, yes, slow down

Like everyone else has said, you're screwed. You will get a permit to drive to work/school. Also from personal experience, don't expect officers to cut you any slack for quite a while.

I don't believe there's a prosecutor in traffic court but I could be wrong, I had a careless reduced to a speeding ticket simply by going to court and explaining my situation.

95 mph at night in the rain on the crosstown in the flat black big block stealth Skylark  long story but I did get that one reduced.

IIRC that check box is basically a reckless, that's the intent behind the little wording of 'endangering life or property'. It makes sure the ticket is a misdemeanor and not just a petty, which also raises the fine and it should be mandatory court.

I'd say with your last recent lead foot fine you're not in good shape. One thing you may be able to do to get some leniency from the court is opt to go through a 'Driver Improvement Clinic'.

Don't expect any compassion from the court though. Just take your beatings and learn from them. There is good reason stuff like this is best kept to a track or private facility.

You guys do realize that the court will not provide a public defender for a moving violation, right? If you want a lawyer, you need to hire your own. Talk to the prosecutor and hope for the best, dragging these things out usually doesn't help.

the court will provide a public defender for a misdemeanor, if you qualify. it's the law, if your liberty is at risk they are required. if all you have in the last 5 years are these 2 then it'll just be a couple of fines. the fines depend on how your driving record has been your whole life.
