Non Focus discussion. Pretty much other cars and off topic stuff.

i read on FJ that nopi discounted a couple pogy wings. i'm considering one, but it kinda looks ricey. i'd get some function out of it. honestly what do you think? not that ricey, or omg rice rice baby?

That wing never caught on. Anything less than a full blown race car I'd say rice.

X2. It will just slow you down unless, like hrw said, your a full race foci. No need to slow down a slow car.

you won't get any real world function out of that wing, you're just trying to justify considering it. please don't.

that's what i thought. all night i was thinking of how dumb of a question this would be. would like a svt one. but i thought, out of production could either mean soon to be rare or shitty, might as well ask.

at what speed is down force as factor?

with a wing like that... 1 mph. YOu are front wheel drive, you dont need anything assisting the rear down.

STi spoilers are not for downforce.

Hard to say what threshold speed is when the spoiler starts affecting handling. I'd be willing to say 60 tip in with a nice rear suspension set pushing 80+. The problem with just a "real" rear spoiler is with the rear end set comes front end lift. So an effective front splitter is necessary to keep the front planted. Hence why I referred this spoiler for race car only status. It is a difficult tuning balance to get the capabilities of the suspension components to work with aero packages to achieve a solid, purpose built race car. Tossing stuff like this on a street car, while being a waste and for show, could result in unintended imbalances which if you are risking your license (100+ on the hwy), may upset the car's feel and handling to the point of being a hand full.

I'm not gonna say at what speed, but when the car sucks to the road that thing would not be a good idea at all. a stock svt spoiler just gives the right amount of downforce at the right time so the car does this in harmony.
Too much downforce can cause the steering to become light. when the car sucks to the road it becomes hyper responsive, with this the car would be uncontrollable.

for a dd that wants to look f&f go for it... but please paste a honda emblem over the ford so no one will know :?

For the money that you are going to spend on this you could get a Focus RS wing.

ahh, i see. thanks HRW and goinloco. i actually never thought about the other end of the car, makes me think of a penny racer  . i thought it was more rice then it was worth. like a universal spoiler off ebay  . i did have a soft spot for wings at some point even if nonfunctional. the more i look at that pic the more ugly it looks

as for the STI pic, i forgot to quote kyle's cloths rack comment, thought the stuffy hanging off the back was funny
