Mass Deletion isn't an option unless your really good with SQL Databases. Going one by one is easy enough but to do 200+ like your talking would take a bit.
Sorry just throwing my .02 worth in. I have a pretty good handle on PHPBB
Plus I don't have a lot of posts but I normally hit this site once a day to just read the forums.

It's not going to happen, it's not worth the effort.
Plus there is no point in knowing our 'member base' since we have a TON of out of state people that also frequent the site.

I run strictlyfocused.com which uses YaBB (Perl based), and it really doesn't take that long to go through 200 users and check off the ones that are obvious spam bots and delete them. I can also mass delete users that haven't signed on in X number of days, or haven't posted in X number of days. I haven't used phpBB but I can't imagine it'd be any more difficult, considering YaBB is opensource freeware and phpBB is a pay service. I would hope they include everyday controls like this on a premium forum software.

It's a simple matter that there's no valid reason to prune the user base. The admins/mods take a fairly active role in making sure that spam is kept off of the site and while I don't visit as often as I'd like to, I know they do a good job. Pruning the list would cause us to lose people that lurk and still visit. not to mention causes us to lose past posting history for those that haven't visited in a while.
If we were a paid membership it'd be different story and while I appreciate the offers to help, I really don't see a valid reason to prune.
