Instead of posting two threads. I'll group them and only put one:
Does anyone recommend any cam gears over the other? I was looking at getting a set of Ford Racing ones thru Steve. Pros/Cons of the Ford ones?
Has anyone experimented with different intake manifolds? Ford sells a ZX2 manifold. And Focus Central makes one as well. Does anyone know anythig about those?
I'm looking for bolt-ons that will help out the Supercharger put more power to the ground.

well, there are 2 styles of cam gears ive seen, one style has 3 bolts and the other has 5(i believe the ford racing's are 5) this is just simple logic, 5 bolts are goig to hold bettter than 3, so you should be golden with the FR gears.
intake mani's, what supercharger do you have/going to get? that makes a difference here
and as far as putting more to the pavement, do you mean you want more traction? or just more power?
the easiest thing to do on a supercharged vehicle is get a smaller pulley for the supercharger, it will spin it faster, thus creating more boost, which intern creates more power!
i just skimmed the surface, if anyone wants to go more into detail, by all means!

Esslinger makes the Ford ones. Usually cheaper to go esslinger. I have fidanza's...no issues and been on the car for over 2 years now.

As far as the manifold goes, I guess it depends on how much boost you plan on having. The FC one is no longer in production. I'd consider spending the $$ on a FR head and use an early 01 manifold. The FR manifold is a nice piece, but you won't get the real benefit from it without head work.

I bought the FocusSport Stage 2 SC. My goal of the car was to hit low 200 whp. I plan on going with the Stage3 when they release it as well. So I should be pretty close. But I'm looking for a few more engine mods that will jump it up alittle more. I am thinking Throttle Body and Cam Gears. I was trying to avoid messing with the internals for now. And no nitrous. But after the few listed mods, I would think the 200s should be easy to crack.

Whats the difference between the 01 mani compared to others? Can the same thing be achieved thru a 02 mani?
The prices on the cams are all pretty close I've seen. The Ford Racing ones compared to Kent gears are within 5$. So I'll prob go one of those.

Kyle,
Give Randy a call at FS and ask him what it's worth. He might say it's a good piece, and swap it out or he may say it's not worth it.

I keep hearing something special about the '00 intake manifold, but i'm not sure what the difference is. I've got one on my car though

The runners are shaped differently, smoother shape as opposed to the 2piece design that followed. I have an early one too.
It is said to help na motors reach 170 whp. Evidentally this was conpared with a dyno, and the early had better gains. With FI though, I'm not sure it would be that measurable. Plus, I still say get the head. That will give you the power you're looking for.
