I drove the Falken Zeixs 512's all last winter, great all season, not the perfect traction but was good enough for me. This winter I am running Yokohama Ice Guards Q rated, very soft, great grip, just doesnt have the speed ratings like the Falkens but man do they grip the snow and ice.
Mars: I am asuming you have the Falken 512's, the only thing I can think of is that your running a wider 215 tire right? the wider a tire the worse it will be in the winter.
Also to the OP: the screaming deamon Firehawks are the shittiest tires ever, I had those last year before I got my Falkens and they were crapper than crap.
