Non Focus discussion. Pretty much other cars and off topic stuff.

Anyone know how much a shop would charge me to get my fuel filter changed? I already bought the filter hoping to do it myself but I can't get my car high enough off the ground to get to it (crappy jack) and now it's winter and I'm 10k miles over due.

10k is really no big deal, a lot of people go WAY longer.

I'd just make a couple phone calls, it really shouldn't cost much. I've done my own but it isn't the most fun job.

Eh, the gas doesn't taste that bad unless it's stale....

My '01 needed a change at 209,000 miles! First time it had been changed.

Those clamp clip thingys are kind of a pain when they are all full of gunk. What happened to good old fashioned hose clamps?

Luckly none of those plastic thingys broke, but the new kit (not FORD) had some come with it. They were different looking, but probably could have made them work.

Good idea about using the money saved from a shop and putting it towards a tool.

It took me about 25 minutes do change mine in a park-n-ride lot on the hottest day of the year 2 summers ago. Its really not that hard. ...much easier than an escort.

Why do you think it needs to be done? Has some one been pouring dirt in your gas tank?
