I did plenty of that stuff on the freeways when I was young and stupid, you haven't lived until you've done 140 in a non-power assisted drum braked, manual steering big block '69 Buick running the 494-694 loop.
I've goten much wiser in my old age though, besides the fact that 100+ is automatic lose your license territory these days.

Fixed
I've been up there a few times in the SVT when I was young and stupid as well, but it rode so nicely it wasn't even exciting

Fixed yours for you
Yeah, the Skylark was actually pretty stable at those speeds although I really don't know for sure where it topped out but when the needle dissapeared into the dash as it flew past 120 and kept pulling hard I'm sure it was 140+ judging by the revs it was turning.
It was pretty impressive how quickly you could get that car to those speeds, you just couldn't slow it down and you better pray you don't have to change direction quickly.
Many a 600-750cc crotch rocket fell to that car, this would have been early 90's and I would not expect it to fare nearly as well against modern sport bikes.
Just wait and see what happens, the officer doesn't decide if he can keeep his license or not. The state does that and he may still lose it, not that it's an issue for a guy that can afford a limo to take him anywhere he wants to go.

I've got a citation that disproves that....
2008 Bone Stock VW GLI
2004 Sonic Blue SVT ZX3, #1593 of 1978 Born 4/8/04
Stage 2 ported TB, Semi-custom Borla center exit, FSWerks CAI, FS front strut bar, suspension by FR/Multimatic gone, but not forgotten
O.K. so if you're just a normal person you get slapped down hard but if you play for the Vikings you get the dissaproving look from the officer and sent on your merry little way?

My brother got caught doing 100+ in a EVO, and drove off with a ticket. The officer didn't catch him on radar, but he said he was doing 140+ and couldn't catch up to my brother. He tried to fight it(reduce the amount), but it wasn't worth the $$ for a lawyer, so he just took the fine.
