ricer excuses tgnorman.. jk. weight does make a difference. i've never seen a foci race. it's hit and miss when it happens, and i always miss it. i know it'd be horrible, but i wanna see how mine would be against a stock svt (how far back i am that is.
A friend asked me if I wanted a frozen banana, I said "No, but I want a regular banana later, so Yeah."

Steve- Yeah, it's still a stock tune, that'll be changing this spring, as well as suspension.
MonkeyGein- Your's is an auto, right? I say 5-9 lengths in the 1/4....at least. I'll weigh mine down with hookers so you have a chance.
And Lox, don't forget you were a good car length ahead of me when we started that 2nd pull....

And as far as I know Loxx is running a stock tune with an exhaust and CAI/short ram so you're both sporting similar mods.
I don't see why theres any argument about which is faster/quicker, The SVT beat the ST in all comparison testing I saw in magazines stock to stock and the SVT has an undeniable horsepower advantage as long as it's running right which we all know can be an issue with an SVT.
Maybe the other 7 SVT Loxx ran had a broken DSI lever
Still want to run mine Jason?

Steve i will be happy to run you let's just hope your DSI lever holds up. As for mods I just have exhaust. I keep sucking up water so I went back to stock. Damn auto car washes go over kill on the spray on the front of the car. I would like to get my car tuned. it seems to start to run like shit after a wile. so i unhook the power let it sit then i hook it back up. then it runs better for some time not sure why it does this.FORDSVTPARTS wrote:And as far as I know Loxx is running a stock tune with an exhaust and CAI/short ram so you're both sporting similar mods.

Does yours actually run badly or just seem to be down on power leading up to resetting the PCM?
It's the adaptive learning that these cars use, it does strange things sometimes. Tuning makes a huge difference in these cars so if you can afford one I'd say do it.

There's an easy cure for this - turn the engine off! Or are you one of those engine-idlers who act like their starter/battery is incapable of restarting. IMHO, the engine-idlers are neck-and-neck with the ignition-dingers - those peole who leave their keys in the ignition and then leave the driver's door open for (what seems to be) forever!lox222 wrote:I keep sucking up water so I went back to stock. yeah, because a T3/T04E turbo pushing 17lbs of boost isn't a "real" turbolox222 wrote:LOL that's good...You should know what I mean when I say "local track" and I'm not worried about those turbo and S/C guys and this so called boost crew they are just blowing hot air. Nice sig there Jason, Just hope you don't run across the guy that posted above you out on the road. It'd probably be embarrasing for you to get your rear end handed to you (severely) by a 60+ year old guy in a stock looking SVT.
BTW-I'm thinking Pappy might differ with you on that as well.

Thats kind of a contradicting statement. First, turbo & S/C cars are bad, then you need a real turbo? Just because we dont drive an ALL MIGHTY SUPRA, or SKYLINE, or RX7, does not mean we dont have real cars. We don't drive Kids cars, they're just compact cars with our own style added to them. And who really cares who is faster? Seriously Loxx, if thats all you care about, then I hope on one of your Happy little ass kicking pulls, the cops pull your ass over.lox222 wrote: LOL that's good...You should know what I mean when I say "local track" and I'm not worried about those turbo and S/C guys and this so called boost crew they are just blowing hot air. I have no clue what got into you recently, maybe hanging out with too many Honda owners, or maybe kids with these cars with REAL TURBOS have been kicking your ass and you're taking it out on us, or maybe just Impatance, but seriously dude. You need to slow your roll there a bit buddy.
Yeah, Toast...
No, appairently its not...Pitch Black wrote:yeah, because a T3/T04E turbo pushing 17lbs of boost isn't a "real" turbo

tg - your's ain't stock. and mine ain't either. so what it's an auto, i have an xcal3 so i can change my rev limit and shift points. but that's why i want to see. i think i may be done modding foci after an exhaust.
loxx - get a Steeda intake. i love mine. the sissy plates/heat shield is a pain in the ass when i have to clean the filter, but i doin't think you'd clean your as much as i do. you also need more power mods

Tgnormans car is stock other than a short ram and exhaust, neither of which do much at all for an SVT.Monkey-Gein wrote:tg - your's ain't stock. and mine ain't either. so what it's an auto, i have an xcal3 so i can change my rev limit and shift points. but that's why i want to see. i think i may be done modding foci after an exhaust.

Loxx has an intake but he took it off and I will say that Loxx's cart is typically immaculate inside and out, he keeps it clean.
As for rev limits, Mines set at 7600. What's yours at?

I used to keep my car clean. Now it just stays dirty. I have not cleaned the rims in months. I just don't have the time and money anymore. With school full time and cutting back on work for school I just can't do what I want with the car. I wanted to change a lot of things over to carbon fiber and redo the suspension intake mani dump the cat and tune it but thats not going to happen anytime soon. I need PC's bad for school so stuff I need for school come first. As for turning off the car in the car wash it dont work. The filter just sits so low that it get wet and some water gets sucked up. It's not a lot but it is enough to get the car to sputter a bit, and in the winter time all the ice and snow freeze to it so I just took it off. As for the way it runs I'm not sure what the hell is going on. I have looked over everything but sometimes the car just does not have the power it should, and like I said I let the car sit with no power over night or what ever. Hook it back up and it's fine. Maybe next summer I'll get it back like it was but for now no big plans for the car. Oh anyone want to come over and help me with the headlights in like 4 weeks.FORDSVTPARTS wrote:Tgnormans car is stock other than a short ram and exhaust, neither of which do much at all for an SVT.Monkey-Gein wrote:tg - your's ain't stock. and mine ain't either. so what it's an auto, i have an xcal3 so i can change my rev limit and shift points. but that's why i want to see. i think i may be done modding foci after an exhaust.

i got one of them ebay shields that i never used ???
i've noticed that i got to reprog too once in awhile. don't the comps in the car adapt to your driving? so if you got it all set up for "performance" then drive around normal won't it just learn the new driving habit?

To a point, if Loxx's car did that it'd only run for a 1/4 mile at a time and only at WOTMonkey-Gein wrote: don't the comps in the car adapt to your driving?

Actually the car does learn but if you start driving it hard it should adjust fairly quickly to that strategy.
