So today I was driving and i wasnt really getting on it hard and when I hit about 5k it felt like it was missing and didnt want to go past that. Later it was doing it at around 4k. This happened before last year and I had to change fuel pump and filter. Do the pumps go bad every year or whats up.
I still have stock timing belt with 118k on it, maybe its starting to effect it?
Any ideas?
not able to rev past 5K
VCT solenoid I betcha.
Not sure exactly but if it's anything like a sticky lifter you can just run trans fluid with the oil and it'll clean the gunk out.
If yours happens to be bad just let me know and we can swap. Mine just fills a hole.

If you're driving your SVT with 118k on the original timing belt you're living on borrowed time.
I'd park it immediately and stop driving it or running it until you can figure it out.
Check the coil wiring and the coil itself for cracks. With the rain we've been having you could be having spark issues.

If your having trouble revving past 5k, all you need to do is step on the gas more and it will rev alittle higher...hope this helps...goodluck

I knew a guy who had a Jeep Grand Cherokee and was saying how it had no power in the winter. He would put those really thick rubber mats in for the winter and they were too big for his Jeep. The way the mat was sitting restricted the throttle pedal movement by almost half. He could never figure out how he had such a dramatic power loss only during the winter months.
