Don't feel too bad, Read the story below.
A service advisor I worked with decided to buy a "numbers matching" Chevelle SS 396 so he gets the car and it's nice but the interior has been changed and the paint was the wrong color, gorgeous car though.
So he decides it needs a carb rebuild and pulls the Holley and has one of the techs go through it, So the next Saturday I'm working in my stall (when I used to get paid to wrench) and I see him pushing the car into a stall across from me.
I ask what was going on and he said he just had to do a little work on the car, He lifts it up and pulls the oil drain plug and from across the aisle I see green pouring out of the oil drain (coolant) so I go over and take a closer look and asked more questions.
Turns out when he was reinstalling the carb he dropped a nut down into the intake which meant he had to pull the intake to get it out.
What he didn't notice was that his "Numbers matching" car had the word "TRUCK" cast into the cylinder heads
so when he ordered new intake gaskets for an SS 396 and installed them they didn't match the coolant ports so when he fired it up after reassembly it filled the pan with coolant.
Luckily he was a major league idiot and when he put the intake back on he left a shop rag in the valley that instantly got shredded by the camshaft and the shredded rag plugged the oil pickup and jammed the pump which shut the car down and saved the engine.
He was too embarrased to tell me the story when I first asked

After doing some driving I had an idea that it was my drivers side rear bearing making noise. I had spun it around a while back and didn't hear anything out of the ordinary. I then tried the pushy pully test. I pushed and the wheel towards the passenger side and it moved. I got it in the air, pulled wiggled the wheel and it moved. Pulled the wheel off wiggled the drum and it moved. Pulled the drum off and I could smell the burn. I got one on order from O'reilly's and will pick that up and put on tonight.

Actually you never want me to ride in your car. The first engine popped in Pappy's car with me in the passenger seat and Roman at the wheel. Justin's tranny totally fubbed with me in the car too.Redlineracer12 wrote:Just don't let him ride in your carPappy wrote:I ain't worried. Justins car will never run.
