i wounder if you can get a 2.5 in the focus , could it be possible to fit a 3.0 dohc, and if so could the escape tranny/transfer case fit.....hmmmmmm.. i do know the rear susp sub frame are the same bolt paterns just thinkin out loud ..sorta, um..gotta...never mind

You can put pretty much any motor in the Focus that you want, It's just a matter of making stuff work together.

I have seen SVT Contour 2.5's, Taurus SHO powerplants (both front and rear engine) and multiple V8's from 302's to full blown 2004 Cobra drivetrains with the IRS and all.

well obviously a 4.6l supercharged SVT cobra motor isn't going to look like a Zetec, if thats what you mean

yeah but what i mean is doing this with minamal hacking, i know that there is some work in vovled .. so far i have come up with the things you need for the swap, these are not proven to its fullest extent but they may work.... a sub frame from a mx6. a 3 liter dohc motor from a turaus, trans from escape, knuckels and assorted bits from escape and contour. rear sub frame from escape, rear diff, shafts, knuckels hubs from escape, for starters . now remember this is only a exersise in creative thinking, so most of this may just be b/s. but i know that ford has a deal with saving money so they have platform sharing and parts bin sharing, like the splines for the hubs are the same between foci, contour, and escape, the escape is like a foctour,or a confocscape, you get the picture,, here is a nother odd and tottly ules fact . the svt motor is more like the escorte version than the foci version.. hhmmmmmmm.. i wounder.
