They dont strip out in the caliper, the trox bits srews as your call them are caliper pins, and they just slide throught the caliper and screw into the stearing knuckle.

Where they strip out at is actually the threaded holes on the knuckle itself, and thats where you have issues as you have to replace the entire steering knuckle.

Ah yes I have done this, on a sunday when all the parts stores where closed, Fucking FORD!!! why can't the ford parts department stay open later than noon on saturday and actually be open on sunday?

Thank god for Johns auto parts.

i jumped over to tousley ford today and got the pads and the dialectric grease. (thanx a million steve for the discount). all i have to do now is install the stupid things. I've never worked on brakes before (same as everything I've done to my focus) and I was wondering if someone could give me some pointers on doing this job. any advice would help.

also look at picking up a chiltons and or haynes manuals.

For the grease, what you will do is lube the shit out of the caliper pins before putting them back in to bolt the caliper back into place.

What this will do is keep the caliper itself from seazing up on the pins, the caliper must be cable to slide freely on the pins.

The local dealer here charges like 36$ or something to remove locking lugs and replace them with OEM pieces. Food for thought. Then you can order up a new set of locking lugs w/ key.

I have had the locking units removed on 2 of my mn12's due to the previous owner not including the key

I wish i would have gone to the meet :-( instead i had to go to a lame ass holloween party full of dorks, BUT i did get pretty hammered....so it wasn't all bad.

I'm going to see if discount tire co. would have another lock, if not i'll go to ford. I'm looking at buying eather the white five spoke 17's or the white euro 17's from ford so if anyone is looking to buy some 16' rims i'll be posting these to sell soon.

no they are aftermarket rims (ASA JS6 & fusions on them) I was thinking someone who just started working on there focus would like them, but I haven't figured out a price for them yet.something like $500 for the bunch.
they only have 15,000 miles OR LESS on them. BUT i'll post more on buy/sell later,

I hope you all see this!!! I get wholesale cost on Raybestes/Brembo brakes. I have Brembo Quality Rotors ($36) a piece and Raybestes PG PLUS break pads. I ride my brakes VERY HARD and there is almost zero brake fade at anything less than 100MPH. And with multiple 125-60 braking scenarios THEY still are NOT warped :) If you want me to get you a set the Full front Both Rotors and Pads are I think like 167$ Total. It will take me 2 hours to get the parts Mon-Fri

I take myself up on the offer about every 15-25000 miles :)
Plus, if it isn't an SVT you can get Brembo brakes for cheap! Damn brembo for not making anything for the SVT!
