None of my family has any clue of how to drive a manual. and the only friend I would consider to teach me was the one with all the drama on here......

This reminds me of a joke i heard once, "How can you tell if Asians are moving into the neighborhood? The Mexicans are buying car insurance."lox222 wrote:I would like to help you. I never thought of that. I would just go to a nice big parking lot and take some time to learn. That what I did.focinite wrote:the best way is to find a gravel road. the gravel is more foregiving of heavy gas footedness.

i'd do it but i ain't got a manual. i don't remember when or how i learned, that's how easy it was. when my old friend would teach people he'd say, let up on the clutch till it starts to bog, then give it some gas and let off the clutch more. don't worry, it'll be fine, you'll get it right away. you'll be pretending to be fast in no time....

I'm planning to work on the Jetta on Friday, if I can get it to run again I'd be more than happy to help out. PM me if you're interested.
I've heard over and over again that a VW is the best to learn clutch on.

Both my girls learned to drive manual with my F350 Turbo Diesel....hell...you don't even have to give it gas while letting out the clutch. Very forgiving.
Good luck to ya ford06.
