Non Focus discussion. Pretty much other cars and off topic stuff.

It looks like FS Werks is coming out with a duratec engine cover. I think it would like nice with the cossie intake I just got. They are thinking black, silver or bare.

My honest opinion? It looks like shit like that, but it'd make a good spot for stickers....

Looks pretty nice Chris. Would look nice with the same colors as your car. :)

But yeah depending on the price you could get one made up for fairly cheap.

Well they haven't announced a price yet, but obviously it won't be $200. ( I know you were exaggerating Rob) And I don't have a welder of any type, thus I couldn't make one myself of any quality. I will wait to see the price before I decide if its worth it though. And I have yet to see one that looks better. The home made ones I've seen look like crap.

I like it. I vote get a bare one and send it out for powdercoating (tony and I use a guy that would do it for a VERY good price). You could then get it blue or something....

I say leave it off, when I look at an engine I want to see an engine. Not a trim cover.

Just put some effort into cleaning up and hiding wires and cables and the Duratec can look pretty good.

Besides, covering the Cossie intake is a crime.

If someone where to start producing covers for the zetec similar to the old Ford Racing ones I know someone who may be interested in purchasing one :) .

I don't think anything on there has to be welded.
For the DIY method and to get a straight bend just use a couple C clamps and straight 2x4's. You should be able to visualize where I'm going with this. Shouldn't be too difficult at all. Just as with any lever, the longer the piece you start with the easier it will be to bend straight. Don't use anything less than 14ga. as it may try and wrinkle as you bend it. Also it can help to "score" the back side with a utility knife.

I agree with Steve.....F the cover. Spend the hard earned money somewhere else.

I like it. I think if I powder coated it same color as the wheels it would look sick. That's what I want to do with the steeda intake i'm getting later this summer. Instead of leaving it polished, powder coat it Stein Gold Dust to match the wheels.

It doesn't do anything for me. It covers very little and has no function. Fail.

Function is obviously not its intention. Heck, alot on my car has little to do with function.
