Oh I completely agree. I would much rather drive the scion. I am just saying that for the first time, Kia actually has a car I don't mind.

How do you love the hamsters?blueebullet06 wrote:I dont much car for any box car....but the commercial is sweet. with all the hamsters and whatnot.... sorry i love hamsters!
I like the look, would never buy one though. I am done playing with little engined cars beyond the Focus. Next car will cost me gas guzzler tax money.
Slower than your stock focus.

I had a 95 Kia Sephia, it was basically a Mazda everything. The CV joint went they ordered up the Mazda part and replaced it quickly. I think my ex wife's brother still has the car. They are Hyundai now and they are now known for getting their act together and building better quality cars. A woman here at work has had a total of 4 mini-utes from them between her and her husband over the past 6 years or so and she loves them.focinite wrote:yeah but it still has that awsome kia build quality.
So you saying they have bad build quality is the same as everyone saying that all Foci are the recall monsters the '01's were.

I knew someone that had a Sephia and that car was a nightmare. The interior build-quality was so bad it would make a 90's econo-GM look like a Maybach. It got horrible gas mileage for its size and had absolutely no power. I hated that car.
Ever since Hyundai took over Kia I think they've been very respectable though. Would I buy one? I'm not sure.

yeah the early models had issues, but kia , take the optima, that car has been on the market for how long unchanged and still to this day i have seen only one or two that are still nice. most any kia ive seen in my shop are far beyond repair at 130k on the ohdometer. but i spose its all on how you take care of it. next time you get a chance look at the rear struts on a optima, they have the worlds largest strut mount, it measures about 13 inches wide and 11 inches tall and is shaped like a piece of note book paper. you have to service them upside down so that the compressed sring is right next to yer face.Louis Zerr wrote:I had a 95 Kia Sephia, it was basically a Mazda everything.
