I was searching around for SVTs for sale in the area and stumbled across something...well...interesting. '04 SVT with 53,000 miles:
I had to go see it in person. Now the first thing you're probably noticing is the atrocious checkered flag theme. No vinyl here folks it is in fact painted on with clear-coat and everything. Unfortunately whatever they used to mask the details allowed some paint to get past here and there.
The fenders have the Z3 treatment and don't look too bad except for the cheap and poorly attached mesh behind them.
The interior is immaculate and the rest of the car seems in good repair.
Somebody really liked the racing flags....painted on, really??? Crazy. I have a good friend who goes to my church that had racing flags painted on his black VW Bug (2007). He did it much more tastefully and suttlely and it actually looks pretty sweet.
I wonder how much someone paid to have this done to this focus??? Not my style.
I have seen the checkered flag done well although I would never personally put it on any vehicle I owned. If there were more detail and maybe some airbrushing to give it some depth then this wouldn't be so bad.

The rest of this car is in such good condition though that to someone it might be worth it to buy it and have it resprayed.
They sure are. My goal is to eventually buy a nice, well-kept example and try to keep it nice for many years. Right now that's a bit of a stretched goal but a goal nonetheless.
Thise guys can clean up the filthiest car and make it look immaculate, not saying it's not a clean car. I'm just saying a used car lot throws some doubt on the actual condition.
Plus they need to knock off the cost of fixing the paint.
While I think we'll all agree that the dealer should take money off to rectify the paint I highly doubt these guys will. If my experience with places like this is any guide, they'll stick to their guns and claim it's something like a "one off custom paint job" and cost $xxxx to have professionally done. If they'd be willing to knock some money off for that I'd be interested to see how far they'll go. Maybe I'll stop in and see what they say.
One thing I noticed after reading the add again is the mention of new tires and brakes. Yeah the tires are practically brand new but there's no way the brakes are. At least not the rears. The rotors on the back were horribly gouged.
I saw this add a few weeks back. It almost made me cry. Anybody else notice the red Focus in the background? I wouldn't say anything except is that another one by it as well? (the black car)
Weird. I went and looked at this thing in broad daylight and I could SWEAR they were painted on. I mean I had my face right up next to it. Maybe I need more coffee? Or less?
They look painted, maybe they dont know its painted on. Should go tell them before they get someone pissed off, for buying something that they thoought had stickers on eBay.

"ask seller a question"
if you do it via ebay and they don't change the listing it's considered false advertisement and breach of contract. doing it through ebay give prof that they knew that it wan't a sticker. then they'll end up on judge judy.
A friend asked me if I wanted a frozen banana, I said "No, but I want a regular banana later, so Yeah."
