So steve helped me out and gave me a list of dealers who had ford ground effects kit, and after finding one in florida i'm left with a kit with instructions that have NO WORDS
does some one have the kit that could walk me through it. and also the side skirts are twisted alittle, is there a way to straighten them out?

Side skirts should straighten up when you install them, ultimately, you would be best off to leave it to a pro to do, but, if you do decided to mount them, fill behind the skirts with expando foam, it will stop them from sagging/warping after time.
Most kits have double stick tape or brackets to attach the piece with.
Go to bumper to bumper and pick up a product called prep-all, and clean the mating surfaces with this before you use the tape. The prep-all will remove gum/grease/wax so the tape will stick better.
If you have not gotten the parts painted, do this before you install them. Make sure the shop knows what they are painting, you will need to use a flexible primer as the base coat, and, make sure the units are prepped correctly, there is a mildew/lube kinda mold release agent on unpainted pieces, this needs to be removed before primer, or, the primer does not stick, if the primer is not of the flexible nature, your paint will crack/peel off.
If the pieces have never been painted and you mount them this way, it will be harder to get a good coat of paint/primer on them where they meet the body panels.
My advice, let a pro do it for you. You will be much happier with the results.

ok, i'm glad to here that the side skirts will straighten up.
The kit was painted by ford before it was shipped to me.
as far as putting the kit on it has double sided tape on the top half and mounting hardware for the bottom.
who would put this on for me and how much do you think it would cost, keep in mind it's just a lip and not a full kit.
any fast advice would be nice cuzz i leave for iraq in feb and i want to enjoy this for awhile before i go.

I am not sure what a shop would charge, you would need to get ahold of a few and get them to give you a quote.
I would try the web site of whoever made it and see if there are directions.
The mounting hardware may need holes drilled into the existing body panels or stich on with the tape, not sure.

Hey man, I remeber meeting you at the last meet. I haven't seen a sedan with the factory ground effects before so this should be interesting. I agree with scotty8, you should take it to a couple shops and shop for the best quote. Of course you can put time into it yourself, and it your unsure about the mounting take it to a Ford dealer and ask.

I'm going to take it to the ford dealer and see how much they will try and charge me. I went to BZ auto (burnsville) and they wanted 400
hopefully that's not an average price. I'm kinda bumed cuzz they didn't have any blue kits left in the US so I found a white one.... hopefully after I finish my racing stripes it will all come togeather.
I'll post picks when I get it done. It might be a long time before I'll have money again to do this project.
all my focus money went to a ring for the girl....
$2000 for an itty bitty mother fuckin ring....
oh sorry... N E ways maybe someone here has experiance with this sort of shit. If you do let me know, cuzz i'de feel better paying one you to help me, rather then pay ford and leave my focus with them.

like I said earlier, steve's the man, he's selling the SVT for $220 or something close to that.
sounds like she's got everything planed out for you, arent women great
I guess i'm lucky... sorta. a month after we get hitched she's getting sent over seas, and then a cupple of months later i'l be doing the same thing. so if she wants something she can pay for it with her own money...lol

Ford Dealership will probably be the cheapest. A lot of the times they give you a break on the price because your bringing them work and you bought their car. I would guess about 200 is about right for installing skirts. (Free of charge to remove them )
