I disagree. I will not go deep into thought at this time but I will later if need be. I just want to ask you one thing, if Obama was the republican and McCain was the democrat, how would you feel then? Which way would you vote then? Yes the person has to do a lot with your choice but it's not just the person, which people have seem to have forgoten. People don't look at their views as much anymore. That's why this country is in the hell hole that it is. Also,, when you go vote for whomever and they say they will change things, they don't mean they will change things for you. You need to get off your lazy ass and actually help out in the community. People just assume that everything will be done for them and that they can just sit back and watch things get better. Well until you get up and do something about it, nothing is going to change. You need to stand behind your vote, and support it by showing your beliefs and your thoughts. Go out and do something about it, show your love for this country.

How are we fucked?

I hear this all the time, but what is going to happen. Maybe he will start a couple wars? Perhaps he will label countries as axis of evil and then they will hate us. Oh wait, that already has happened.

A president is more the face of our country. The real things happen at the congressional and senate level. As the face of our country john mccain comes across as an emperor palpatine type. on the other hand people around the world are glad that we elected obama as our next president. it is easier to work with these other countries if we have a president that they are willing to work with, it creates opportunities. if you think we can close ourselves off from the rest of the world and get our economy turned around you are not thinking straight.

This is the most historical event that has happened in my lifetime.

I would consider myself a fairl good citizen. Granted I was unable to vote (unable to show proof of residency :( ) I was at the polling place, ready to. I think that the people that should really read that statement are the imigrants that say our country is such shit and expect us to hand them free stuff. (Welfare? come on, money for doing nothing?) I work my a** off, and have been since I was 15 at jobs to have money, and pay the taxes that they take out of my check for Social Security (which is similar to welfare, BUT, it's actually going ot elders who may actually be unable to work, not just fat lazy mother f'rs.) There were many times where I had two and three jobs, even while I was still back in high school, and right now I am even still working a job while full time at SCSU. I am working very hard to help this country imo, it's all the (here comes the bad word) hodgies that move here and just whine and bitch until we give them all the free suff they can handle.

Fuck this, i'm moving to Japan.

I've been to Japan a couple times. Wouldn't want to live there. Good luck in Japan. Eat a burger here before you go, they may not have any there.

Yup, he did win. And now, regardless of who we voted for, we need to follow the advice of McCains speech last night and support Obama in any way we can. This country needs unification. The perception is that the world views this as a positive thing. I hope they are right. Only time will tell. The reality is, lets see how congress does now. They are the ones who need to get their act together and accomplish what was promised two years ago when the dems took control. ie, health care reform, getting out of Iraq.

Obama has presented himself well, and has become a likable guy. Lets hope this helps us. He has a couple core issues that I have problems with, but I hope he leads us to recovery. There are signs of a turnaround already in progress, lets hope he continues it.

How about that coleman/franken race? Talk about every vote counting!

Eh, usually I avoid the topic myself. But in this case, it was a historic event no question, and should merit a little peaceful conversation! :)

My only concern right now is how long it's going to be before the psychos start shooting at Obama.

You know it's going to happen. :(

Boy I hope not. That is just plain sad to think someone may try that. But if it did, I wouldn't be surprised if they came from the deep south, where McCain was strong, and prejudice seems to be stronger too.

I won't deny thinking the same thing. Hopefully it doesn't happen though.

I won' deny it either, I think its a matter of time before there is an attempt at his life. There was already one conspiracy ead by white supremacits (sp?) from like Virginia or something.

The Franken/Coleman race is another historic one, for MN at least. What was the difference? like 7xx something votes! :o
