Opinions wanted on a possible paint job.

I have for a long time now wanted to paint my car. I currently have the motor and tranny out of it, so I think I may paint the engine bay black for starters. Next comes the exterior.........

Some things I have been thinking:
I believe I want it to be flat paint.
Do I want a single color or two colors?
Metallic or solid color?
Light, dark, medium color(s)?
Which combination of the above if two colors?


In the past at one paint in time I wanted to do two tone black on the upper half of the car and salmon or coral on the lower half. That plan was with glossy paint, but after seeing a certain MKIV at HIN last fall I fell in love with flat paint. I also had always liked how white shows the lines of a car, so I now had thought of doing solid flat offwhite. Another single color I thought about is a flat metallic brown.


Input please, any comments and criticism is welcome. The car that could use some paint is my Focus with the euro bumpers. I also plan on going back to a stock hood.

I have yet to see a Flat White or Eggshell color...

If you do the Flat White ext, do the engine bay Gloss Red...

Flat white seems like it'll be a bitch to take care of. I like the two tone idea.. but thats me.
