I think the only car that was ever trouble free was the 1984 Gran Marquis.
1990 Geo Metro, transmission went out on it after a few months of driving, and no I didn't really beat on that car. This was the first car I started driving as it was the middle of winter when I got my liscense.
1962 Ford Falcon, met up with a cluster of small trees, got bent in areas where a car should not bend.
1984 Mercury Gran Marquis, was old, ugly, and rusty. Sold it to the family of the girlfriend at the time, they had to do some exhaust work on it and the girlfriend literally wrapped it around a tree and dented one of the rear doors. After we broke up and she went off to school in Milwaukee they sold the car.
1996 Geo Metro, got the car soon after my mother hit a deer with it and crumpled the DS fender. I drove it for awhile and had issues with the lighting switch after a while. I eventually hit a deer with it that took out the headlight, windshield, and dented a few different body panels. I sold this car because I got sick of it.
1926 Ford Thunderbird, I don't even want to go there. I still own it, but I ignore that fact.
1990 Toyota Celica, was an auto. It eventually had ignition problems that lead to an expensive shop bill (damn mechanic). I got a different car because this one was an auto and all fasteners on the engine were rusty and broke off way too often.
2002 Ford (Escort) ZX2, bought this because it was cheap, had a 5 speed, and a Zetec engine. Eventually bought a Focus cause that is what I really wanted all along. This was supposed to be the winter beater, but use of it by the GF at the time meant it became scrap. It is still sitting around not being used as it is no longer road worthy. Still runs like a champ though. Spider gears are weak in these cars, I helped add to that statistic once.
2000 Ford Focus ZX3, heavily modified plus the added bonus of self changing oil. It may have some damage due to my inability to check the oil at critical times (hey, I wasn't driving it anymore, so I forgot)
2001 Ford Focus ZX3, has been great to me so far. I bought it with a few problems, but fixed them as one was a free fuel pump from Ford and the other was the common DPFE sensor that could of been fixed under a recall I believe.
200? Volvo C30, not yet ordered, but someday......
