Snow Tires Going On Tonight!

Non Focus discussion. Pretty much other cars and off topic stuff.

The SVT rims wrapped in the Dunlop Graspics are going on tonight. Bought these from Deagle. I think these tires have been on a number of member Foci. It's going to be fun driving around tomorrow, never have had a tire with a mountain and a snowflake on them :D

Don't think they'll be left on though. I'm going to change to the allseasons after the roads are back to dry.

Who else is running dedicated snows? Do you leave them on or change back and forth?

I just picked up a set of blizzaks mounted on steelies. There's no way I'm swapping them everytime it snows. They'll be on for the rest of the winter. 8)

I'm pretty sure those Dunlops were originally mine, They have certainly made the rounds.

I just ran them for one season, Bolt em on and leave em on.

They do wear quickly in warm weather so you don't want them on too early or leave them on too long in the spring.

They were phenomenal tires when new, It was like having four wheel drive in ice and snow.

I just couldn't deal with the trade off of less handling ability than I was used to in the dry.

I run all seasons year round now, The last set were Pirelli P-Zero Nero's and they were great. The new set are Kumho Ecsta ASX's and they have not seen snow yet but I expect they'll be pretty good.

Why would you want to leave the biters on when the roads are dry? It doesn't take long to swap 'em out.

We put some skinny snows/steelies on the ZX3 last year. It was amazing how much better it got around on 185/65-15.

I've got three kids a wife and a 50 hour a week job so it's hard enough finding time to get anything done let alone swap out tires before and after snowstorms.

If you've got the time, more power to you. 8)

Quality time in the garage! My daughters nickname is LUGNUT. Last weekend she learned how to plug a tire on the ZX3.

Tires are on and they run down the road nice. SVT rims look good too. Needs a drop. 8)

They're the perfect wheel, duh. Except they hold a lot of crap inside of them! I had to clean them out a few times today. I could barely do 40 on the highway today.
