Did anyone happen to notice the SVTF was a flodd victim in Winona? *tear* I saw the seats and was a like, damn another Focus lost to mother nature. Anyone else catch that on the news?

it's just a Focus. I was worried about all the classic restorations that bit the dust!

You mean these classics?

Some classic cars sat in flood water yesterday in Winona, Minn. Storms in the upper Midwest dropped as much as a foot of rain, causing flooding that washed away bridges and roads. (morry gash/ASSOCIATED PRESS)

I see "Image" so maybe you had a bad url?
Edit: Your url was fine, I was able to open it up in a separate tab but for some reason it just doesn't show up when I look at the thread.

Don't forget, 35 years ago most of those were just old used cars that no one wanted.Deagle50ae wrote:it's just a Focus. I was worried about all the classic restorations that bit the dust!

I agree with Steve. The SVTF in my opinion is up there with the likes of Buick GS, Olds 442, Chevelle SS, Pontiac GTO, Mustang Cobra. Although not the muscle cars of old they are limited edition high performance vehicles in their own right and with the correct amount of aging and care will become something more then they are today. Granted probably not sought after as the aforementioned but will have thier own following, maybe some of the children of those on this list...

Just a Focus, but when they are just as old as those classics you mention you wont be able to find nice ones readily.
And those are just cars, nothing too special. That and you can always rebuild them if you have to.

Besides the fact that most of those old cars aren't affected by water like modern cars are.
They are much simpler and have virtually no electronics in them unless they were added during resto work.
My '69 Skylark had six wires for the entire engine.

I did an engine swap in that car once in about 1 1/2 hours by myself and that was when I was swapping in a 350 to replace the 455 I had just sold
so it required some extra mods in the process.

1-I needed cash
2- I was tired of 8 mpg
3- A car like that is generally easier to sell in a more "stock" form
When I finally did sell the car the guy that bought it was actually scared of it with the 350 in it, He thought it was too fast.
It was actually quite respectable with the 350 in it, It was a freakin rocketship with the 455 in it.
