Fuck you Nick. You don't like them cause they are more Euro then you are.
This is really strange you brought this up Alan,
This past week I've started looking for a Mk1 GTi. I gave up on my wagon idea. Alan, did you find one somewhere?

no, not yet... I've been halfassedly looking for years. See, its a multiple part issue:
1. The insurance for the Focus is too damn much
2. I love old school hatchbacks
3. I was brought home from the hospital in one
I'm very seriously considering dumping the Focus and getting one to replace it. Part of me wants the diesel, part of me wants more than 50 hp

well, there is a GTI up in the cities, but... ummm... it'll probably need more work than its worth... but if you're looking for a shell...

Actually, thats kind of what I was hoping for. Just a shell with alot of spare parts and shit.
I really want to do an engine swap anyway. Aiming for 200+ track/daily driver. I'd love to do this once I have the other money pits paid off, I could afford it. But right now I can't, unless I dump Rattles.
Any links to the one for sale?
I'd almost think about getting rid of Chromie for one of these...

I saw one of these today in person...I think of the first I've actually seen on the streets...Bright Red....I fell in love...

Yes....I've gone Euro-tarded.

just get a ford festy and motor swap it. you can make them look very euro and have them running over 150bhp for dirt cheap. plus 1800lbs FTW!
my buddy's got one of maybe 3 or 4 BP swapped festivas in the country. it hauls ass with an old Escort GT engine swapped in it!

I wear my sunglasses at night.
here ya go 02... its only $650
I'm definitely open to a Fiesta, but they're rather hard to come by, and it doesn't have the personal history that the mk1 Rabbit has for me

Don't settle for a Fiestiva Alan, those guys are drunk and high on shit. LOL
You can get any Mk1 Gti with 200+ and right around 1800lbs.
What I'd want to do with my Golf tho, is have a VW/Ford hybrid...VW brings the shell, Focus brings the power...

Ya, Rob, I love the new Fiesta, can't wait til' it comes ashore, but I think Nick is getting wood over the original 80s Fiestivas.
