Hehe. Glad I could help out man. I added some of the cables on the invoice and they went over the $300 mark. I may have to play around with some of the prices.

Oh yeah, and it may be an issue getting those tower speakers in Black. All we have in stock is the cherry right now. I may be able to snag a pair from St. Cloud if they're still brand new. I don't know if I can get them here by Saturday though. I'll call tomorrow and see what I can do. Otherwise, would you be up for a road-trip up to the St. Cloud Ultimate? :)
Believe me- after 8 1/2 months and 4 engine blocks, the car definitely earned the name Debacle.

well I am still a little iffy about spending all that money but if you have the original higher end Klipsch ones we originally looked at I'd be up for those as well. Gah this is so hard, I would love to have this setup but also I dont know if I want to spend that kind of money. ARG!!! well I will definately be in tomorrow after work and we can go over things again. I know for sure that we want to get the sony 42" tv, the Sony DVD player, the power center, and the tv stand and stereo stand and maybe hold off on the surround setup and wait till we finish off our basement I dunno, I guess I will sleep on it one more night.

Decisions Decisions :)

If you're iffy about the whole surround package and the money involved there-in, here's my suggestion: get the new receiver and at least the main speakers NOW and worry about the rest later. If you do that, you could go one of a few ways:

- get the main speakers we talked about and call it good
- get the same mains and add the sub for a ton of low end punch
- get the larger main speakers and skip the sub
- go all out for now and get the larger mains and the sub

This way you'll have a killer starting point to build the rest of the system and can still have a pretty good setup for listening to movies/music. We can discuss other options tonight.

So how's everything working out? Does Jodi approve?

One thing I don't know if I mentioned or not: DO NOT use the power center to power down the television. It needs to go through a cool-down period where the fan stays running and lets the bulb ramp down. If you use the power center to cut it's power completely it won't go through that necessary step and your $300 bulb will blow in no time flat.

We re-arranged the setup one more time. We put the setup on the Left wall now and put the couch on the opposite wall, allows for a much better arrangement and actually more room to move around in.

I was reading up on the manual for the power center and actually what the power center does is that the switching cable that connects to the reciver what that does is just turns on and off certian ports on the power center not the whole power center itself. So the port that the TV, cable box, dvd player, ect do not get its power turned off at all so I wont have to worry about turning off the power center and cutting the power to the tv.

There are two seperate pair of switched ports the switched ones, then the switched/timed ones, I have the sub pluged into the switched timed ones, so that the sub will turn on after the reciver is fully turned on so that there will be no chance that feedback can make it to the sub while the reciver is powering on. works out quite well.

Jody was funny last night after she came home and sat down with me to watch a movie, she was like "honey the tv aint really that big, we should have gotten a bigger one huh?"

damn women can't make them happy ever, oh well I think 42" is big enough for me and works out well in that room.

thanks again, oh and I'll have pics of the setup for all to see later on tonight.
