I don't have to turn so fast

Non Focus discussion. Pretty much other cars and off topic stuff.

HAHA, the car saw the orange lens, and said F-that, euro crap. I'm not gonna work right.

I just added another lightbulb to the back hatch. The car thought a bulb was out, since the wiring that normally runs the rear blinkers were cut out, and not puttint load on the system. Add a bulb for the car to light when turning, it works now. So I just have an extra light bulb in my hatch, that blinks when I turn, but you can't see it.

werd....or you can put a load resistor instead of using bulb. if you use the load resistor make sure you put it in a safe place where it wont melt.

I tried a resistor. All it did was dim the bulb.
So extra lights FTW!!

the resistor size you're using might be too big. you might wanna use the 5 ohm one but either way the bulb fix is the cheaper way to go as far as cost wise so yeah extra bulb wins :P

Are there some instructions somewhere on how the wiring is supposed to go?

I take it they changed the wiring between 2000 and later models? If so, any instructions for the later ones? I've got a couple 2000s, but I want to look at anything out there to see if I can make sense of it. It shouldn't be too difficult.

Yeah, there are some how tos on FJ in teh Ext. Sticky threads.

For some reason, the 2000s don't have a GEM box were it is on later year cars. The GEM is supposed to be above the computer behind the glovebox. But it ist'nt there on my Kona. Having the GEM box just makes it alot easier. Instead of dragging wires thru the hole car, you and just cut 2 wires and splice them into another set, and it seperates the blinker and the brake light for the rear taillights.
