it's cause it's an escort

I'm actually surprised UMDivX has stayed quiet in this thread. I really dont have much I can say about the SPI motor otherwise I would. I do know the guy up here in Duluth with a 75 shot on his auto spi isn't going to have a motor and/or transmission soon.

Nice numbers.

What did you think of Elite. When I was there, the tac pickup on the dyno kept cutting out so I never got a good reading on my torque. Kind of sucked because I was trying to tune for a nice mix of hp and tq.

Was this a tuning session or just one pull?

The SPI motor will do fine with a 75 shot as long as it's done right, fuel/timing/gas/plug's.
But the Auto trany does not have a good reputation :?

I've been talking to UMDivX on AOL IM, I may give him a hand some day with a install.

It was mnsportcompact.com dyno day, so there was several of us. We each had 2 pull's. Some ppl did have problems with the pickup.

What do you use to tune with? SCT or some thing?

Obviously done right.. this is a kid that had stock plugs, no timing pulled, and 93 octane, thats it. He said the other day his car was running bad and he hasn't sprayed since. Probably smart of him.

Humm... let's just hope his N20 kit added a bunch of fuel one way or another. I would'nt be supprised if his crank case breather is spiting oil now.

I had just installed my FR2 cams. I have adjustable cam gears. I was trying to set those for a good mix of hp and tq.

I'm hoping if everything goes well and I'm able to finish off my basement this winter and then save some money, by the time spring comes around I'll be turboing my SPI, I'd like to get the head P & P, then get new rods, pistions and rings as well so I can beef up the egine to handle higher psi and hit 200hp.

I already told Jeff on AIM that'd i'd pay him to gather all the parts and help me install the setup on my car, but first I will take my car to B&M cylnder head in Ramsey (my freind's shop) get the head work and pistion work done then work on the turbo.

After all that I should have one bad ass SPI, who says you need two cams to get good numbers :)

If your goal is only 200hp, I would'nt worry about doing anything internal. It would be nice to have a ported head, you'd make more power with less boost, but it's not nessacary for 200hp. Same with the pistons and rods the stock's will be fine as long as we can get a good tune. Just need some wide band tuning and stay away from knock.
