Hey all. I need an alternator installed I doesn't look all that difficult but I'm looking for someone who has done it before. I'll pay a project cost or money for beer lol. Either way I'd like to find someone to put it in. I should be receiving it Sat or Sun so it owuld be sometime next week. Thanks
I'm not the MN ZX3 w/ Cali plates anymore.

them poor motor mounts must just bee a screemin, and the axle seals must be loving the constant in and out treatment........ dont ask its much easer to do on a hoist that way!!!! soooooo shut yer mowf,,,er um , i mean i hate doing alts.......and um ,,,how bout them twins huh?-gotta go!!!

Easiest way I found is to support the engine and remove tha pass. motor mount. Tilt it forward and your set. Takes me about 1/2 hour or so with the proper tools.

Wow, that was a great description on how to remove the alternator, why don't you get off your high horse and tell us all how you do it?
From the ford tech manual for an 02 zetec(which is just as retarded)...
Removal
Remove the cooling fan motor and shroud. For additional information, refer to Section 303-03 .
Remove the accessory drive belt. For additional information, refer to Section 303-05 .
Remove the power steering pipe support brackets.
Remove the exhaust manifold heatshield.
Raise and support the vehicle. For additional information, refer to Section 100-02 .
Disconnect the generator electrical connectors.
Detach the generator.
Lower the vehicle.
Detach the generator.
Remove the clip.
Detach the generator.
Remove the generator.
Installation
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
I did mine from the top, iirc, I also had my intake manifold off, but, one should be able to drop it from the bottom no prob.
Either way, I do not understand why you shit on those that are far more skilled then you, trahma. focinite and IMINHELL are both great under the hood and I would trust either to work on any car of mine, both know their shit, both have done things beyond your realm of experience. focinite has done the SVT swap, a task that most, including you, Mr. "go forced induction", would never EVER attempt. John pretty much rebuilt the motor of his starquest in his garage, he does not have a full shop, for what he has to work with, my hat is off to him. For you to shit on a guy like him makes you look like you are taking candy from a baby, he is one of the best car guys I have ever met, very level headed and knows what he is talking about, out this way, some of us get our hands dirty.
Focinite may seem like an odd ball, but, he knows what he is doing, and, for a guy that came over clean as a whislte, he had no quims about getting dirty as we tore down my old motor.
Both of these guys are on planet earth, and, are some of my fav guys on this board. I am usualy a very negitive person(ask umdivx) so when I give praise, its for a good reason.

Well first of all, you've never worked on a car with me so trying to judge what I know is quite pointless. I'm sorry, pulling a motor mount to replace a serpentine belt is about the most ass backwards thing I've heard in a while. I don't doubt that Rob is good with a wrench, nobody is perfect at what they do.
Removing the motor mount and tilting the engine forward is going to make it easier but it's definitely not necessary. Besides, he's not looking for instructions on how to change his alternator, he asked if someone would do it for him. (which btw I offered to do) I'm glad that some of you "get your hands dirty" but last time I checked I've worked on my car in every circumstance where I had the time to deal with it. I'm not superman with a wrench, but I still get the job done.
reconstruction.

I joined this forum to learn more about my ride and find some friends, not to read or listen to a bunch of whinning brats!

I usually have a motto that if you don't have something nice to say don't say anything at all. But I am just sick of the whinning and just want to learn and enjoy what I get out of this forum. I hope to be on it for a long time, but I take every day one at a time.
