It does sound different but I had a strange idle before this. It seems to almost surge. The headlights flicker every once in a while and the dash does too. I have no idea what it is. It is more annoying that anything since it does not seem to hinder performance or at least I don't think it does.

My car did that too randomly. Most of the time it was at lower rpms. As much as I hated that car, I miss it, I miss its handling and its power band. This PT sucks, and the truck is junk after 4k and has no HP to go with its massive tq.

Pretty sure that he is not looking to get crazy power. It doesnt take a moron to figure out that you're not going to get much out of an exhaust system and an intake. He probably just wanted the satisfaction of doing it himself.

Also, to me: head work, cams, final drive gearing, fuel < forced induction. Yeah it's the easy way out, but it's been proven to work
im sorry i did not mean to sound all yelly and what not. i was there one , i know how frustrating it is to spend money and have the out put be little to non. and yes FI is a good power adder, but maggin if you had a good set of cams to let more boost in, or step those cobra gears up to a 4.10 or a wheely making 4.56  but shit i think a exhaust port and smooth aint gonna break the bank, and plus youll get to learn how to dissmantle the top half of the engine, witch is neat cus you get to see how all yer cams work and how coolant gets to places , and all the neat junk. the trans if way fun to rip into.[/quote]

mr convoy, im sorry if i came across as ......the guy. the best way to add a bit of power is to alow more air in and out of the motor , for a small amount of money cams are yer best bet . cams will open the valves for a little more air, this relates to more power , agood set of stage 1 cams are offered by ford motor sports. they are a good learning exper. any do-it-yerselfer should learn how to do cams, there fun.

Problem Solved!!

I did a general check of the engine and noticed the throttle body plate looked a little dirty so I got some cleaner and put it all back together and Click! It sounds good again. Now I can start saving for something new to screw it up. HA
