When they work, they rock.

I need a new motor, I dunno what the fuck the prob was with it, but, the first ride to set fuel pressures, it had no balls, it was like it wasn't turbo'd at all, brought it home, let it idle to cool down, with the hood open, then shut it down.

Came back an hr later, was going to check the fuel preassures again, woman needed a ride, I was going to drop the gas tank to check on something and try to get it to cool down again so I could check to make sure the bolts where tight,

Well, on the way to go get her, it was pulling really hard like it should have been before, fuel pressures looked good. On the way back, I got on it a little bit, and then I went to pass this van, I was hardly on it, and it pulled like mad, I mean, like super mad balls into your ass crack mad, I didn't hear any of the boost dumping off at all, and, poof. Smoke and oil EVERYFUCKINGWHERE.

There is a hole in the block the size of my fist. I think it over boosted, I don't know, shoulda bought the JRSC for it.

So, now, becasue I went to Rod's house with the focus, and, it caught the sickness his car had, then it was on the jack stands here for awhile, then I parked the PT where the focus was before the wrecker came to get it, and the ghost of the carcass got the best of the PT.

oh fucking noooo!!!!!! man i told you them mopes are nothing but trouble. im sorry to hear bout both yer cars, the free bird and the pt blue smoke. i wounder if the boost regulator was stuck, like they like to do in the eclipes. shit youd think that the block could held at least 8-10 psi, but i spose if it overboosted it was more like 14-20 psi... you said it had no boost at first and then over boosted, if it has the stock style boost regulator( off the mitsu set up) i betcha that diagaphragem was cock eyed! :x

Motor=700$+balance of loan

New car=cost of new car+balance of loan.

I am going new motor and I think no boost, I hate to be a pussy bitch and run with my tail between my legs, but the woman is getting furious fast with my fast n the furious antics

The max psi on that turbo is 25psi, the turb is rated for 300hp.

I haven't pulled the motor yet, tomarrow I might, or, just put it in the garage and burn it down.

The fucker pulled mighty hard, never been in a car that pulled that hard, they say the stock pt motor is good for 8-10psi with IC, depending on who you talk to, the stock kit I had was good for 5-7psi, and was suppose to be waste-gated to that, the turbo was a mitsu 16g....funny thing is, when it popped, I hit the clutch, and, the fucker was idling as smooth as can be, no pinging, no detonation, no unusual noises.

And, focinite, every car has problems, if they didn't, you wouldn't need that ford tech cert. you have.

I think when I get this thing fixed and running again I am buying into an mn12(89-97 tbird/cougar) for a daily driver. I know them in and out and they have the leg room and body room I want, I got parts and shit tons of knowledge on them, I have number 6 or 7 in my front yard right now.

...... oh soooo true, but the time is coming fast to become a pastry chef! so the the block blew? and it was still running? dumb question but did you do a comp test, it sounds as if the boost went by the rings and pressureised the crank case :?

IMINHELL

I'm trying to get ahold of a buddy of mine (Mase Sours), he works for Auto Value in the St. Cloud area and has done alot of work with Neons. He knows where to get shit cheap. IIRC he picked up a JY 2.0 SOHC and 5spd for $250 a couple years back.

If you heard that 16G whisteling then you where probally upwards of 12psi. Mine dosen't make a peep untill I hit 12psi, at 10 you wouldn't even know it's there.

Btw, what where your FP base readings and reading under boost. Remember most regulators are actually Boost Compensating and not Rising Rate. So if your base was 38psi and under boost you see 44psi, odds are that your running 6psi; and your actually pushing the exact same fuel pressure. Fuel volume is the bottom line, pressure means nothing w/o flow.

Well, it looks like the oil line was rubbing on the accuator arm for the wastegate. Sucks.
IMINHELL

Scott-

Even if the wastegate malfunctioned and did not "bleed" boost, that still does not explain why you have a hole in the block and apparently no broken crank or rod/cap. The giant hole tells me that your pcv (or some part of the re-breather system) failed horriably and blead alot of pressure into the crank case (and could not vent it out). The possiability of over boosting only compounds the "leaking" pressure. I know we sort of blew on the pcv and it seemed to hold back our measily breath, what is that port on back side for? and where does it go? If that port was subjected to ANY possiative pressure, well you now have your answer.

The odd thing is if you where building pressure in the crank case then why didn't the dipstick pop out or the pan gasket blow a hole in it? (as it probally should have)

Do you have the engine out yet? When you do I want to come back over and pull the pan. I want to know what kind of clearance there is between the counterweights and the block.

The motor is fairly close to being pulled. Pretty much gotta hang the ac comrpessor off to the side, unplug the harness, unbolt flywheel and I think thats it. I was out there today for a little bit drainging and unhooking things.

After I got it out, I put the oil lin eon the turbo, 1/16" of clearance, and I noticed that the vac line on the wastegate had fallen off :o

My oil streak is still out on 9, you can see it when you come around that last S curve before 12, it starts going up that hill in the left lane as you are headed towards 12, then you see it go sharply to the other side of the road at the top of that hill. I should go out there and see if I can find the piece of my block, I drove out there like 4 times but never stopped to look.

Tomarrow Chris is spose to come over with his stang and we are going to the cities, he said I was driving, so, lets see how we will finsih off the summer

Oh yeah, as long as my paypal goes thru I think tuesday night I am going to go pick up that motor. Still debating if I should do the clutch while I am in there, waiting to hear back on some questions I asked someone about some mounts. Then I need to buy some oil, thinking I will just run rotella in the next one, 15w40 synthetic
