well thank you

im glad to see the car in good hands. he needs to spend more time on his comet!!!!!!! so its good that you took this away from him
CHrist he had it sitting in a garage for 2 years I think he said.
I am pulling the motor on it soon I think. He said something about having the motor machined, I didn't really talk to him much about it, I went to change the oil and it was goopy and chunky, I have a funnel with a strainer in it that I use to dump waste oil into my 5 gal jug with, and, it plugged the screen, I don't know if sawdust got into the pan(the drain oil pan I used to catch the oil) or if it was shit from the motor, but, the funnel is plugged. The oil that was in there was really dark, and, old.
The plugs I replaced where all pitch black like they where burning oil but I figure the plugs are fouled from the old gas.
the 2 plugs on the pass side, I belive, cylinder 1 and 2, where brownish like they may have been burning some coolant, car puffs white smoke.
The cap that was in there was cracked, and, one of the electrodes on a cap tower was turned 180 degrees, so, the flat part that the rotor swings by, was facing out, which explained the missfire and rough idle.
I didn't replace the wires, should have, they look toasted. The car bogs down really bad like a BHG, sounds like its coming from the pass side, only toher things I can think it could be is plugged injector or cat.
I figure I got the tools to do so, so, I am going to pull the motor and pull the pan, if the rods are all tight, no shavings, clean oil pickup, I will flip it back over and pull the heads and see what the cylinder walls look like, I should also be able to inspect the gaskets for signs of failure.
If all looks OK, it might change the direction I am going to go with this car.
Gimping it around the block, the trans shifted very smooth. The trans fluid needs to be replaced yet, I have a filter here for it, I am pulling the rad to pressure wash it at the car wash since its full of seeds like he drove in a ditch.
I popped out some of that dent on the driver's side and pulled the door ding strip and removed the adheasive. Some spots I got a bit too happy with a razor blade but, the car was free.
The car also needs some brake work, parking brake is toast, and, I think a new ball joint up front. Rocker panels are gone, interior is in great shape, no major stains/tears, no nasty odors. Rear sway bar is toast, rear suspension seemed fairly tight yet.
The whole car, in and out, when I got it, stock, unmolested, the way I like to find these birds, stock air box, stock exhaust. Some parts are really rusty or non-existant from the rust, but, I think it should hold solid for what I need to do.
I figure if I get ambitious, I should get the motor out late friday or saturday, I need to drain the trans first....
Rob,
AOD to the rad, the upper line for the in rad trans cooler is the output right?
