One of my brand new tires appears to be defective. I was driving to work yesterday morning on 94 just before mounds blvd and heard a noise, sounded like a spring unsprung. I looked around thinking I may have hit something and there was nothing in the road or behind me so when I got to work I looked the car over and didn't see anything weird or damage to the body or tires. I thought maybe a spring jumped into place or something since I just put in the SVT kit. When I got home I noticed a rear tire was low and when I added air I noticed the inside sidewall bulging way out in 2 places. Need less to say I took it off. These are my new Pirelli P0 neros with about 1000 miles. The service guy at Tousley thinks it's impact damage but I checked the tire pressure 2 days ago and they were all good and I didn't hit anything remotely hard. Anyway it seems they will replace the tire but the question is do I need to replace 2 as they are worn pretty good from the auto-x school? These were on the front and I just rotated them to the rear.

Who races here, do these need to be heat cycled before you take them for some hard track time?

I roadraced motorcycles for 9 years and heat cycling tires was bad for them. The best tire was always a brand new one. I can't imagine that car tires are any different. Tire warmers became popular not only to heat tires before a race, but to keep them warm between races to not heat cycle them.
