What did you wire to what now?

The remote wire to the cig lighter? That shouldnt make your car not start. Did you look at the fuse? It sounds like a dead battery????

Ouch.

Why would you hook a remote to the cig lighter? Check your fuses and trace back everything you did.

Yeah, don't plug your remote wire into teh lighter. The remote wire is 99% of the time, connected to your radio. There usually is a light blue wire(on all my radios anyway), that is run from the radio to the amp. That way the amp is only turned on, when your radio turns on. Your cig lighter has power all the time, even when there is no key in ign.
You could have ran the battery down to nothing, or blown a fuse somewhere. Prob the battery. Usually, if you leave a door open for acouple hours while working on something, the battery will die. I've done it before, just never on the Focus.
Goodluck!

well i've tried jump starting ... do i need to let things be hooked up for a while when i do that? I'm gonna trace the fuses today ... it seems like fuel isn't making it to where it needs to, because it will almost turn over, and everything else works fine, radio, lights, etc.

The Focus has a some fuel system button on the passenger side kick panel. If you remove the little rubber stopper, and push the botton, that mgiht help. Maybe someone else can help on this, I've never used it before.
