So, I finally did it, bought a truck, its mine, paid for, and, no more asking to borow a truck!
Specs: 1992 f150 long box, topper, bed liner, 300-6, 5 spd, 4x4, alum wheels, aftermarket radio, 116k on the clock. Paid 2100$, he was asking 2500$ for it.
Everything works except for a power window switch, needs a t-stat housing gasket, tighten the valve cover(both seep some fluid).
Tires have good tread left, has the owners manual, alum wheels, and, 2 sets fo keys for the truck/topper.
All in all, its not bad!
The guy I bought it from took care of it, new clutch at 80k I think he said, oil changes every 1500 miles, in his garage, he had 2 fox fody stangs, one is a track only car, alky injected, 700hp, turns 9's religiously. The other was an 83 hatch street car, and, he also had a 67 coupe he was doing an efi converion on. He must have used the truck to haul his car, he said he raced at BIR, rock fall,s cedar rapids, grove creek and a handful of others.
The interior of the truck is a solid 9 out of 10 and he even incuded all season floor mats.

You shoulda seen the other one I wanted...they sold it before we had a chance to see it.
The other was an 87 f350 with 4" lift, mud tires, and, a big block 460
At least this one won't drain the wallet any time I drive it.

heh...think again..
i've got a 95 f149 300-I6, 5 speed, 4x4, long box, standard cab, and about 100,000 more on the ticker, basically our trucks our identical minus mine is a really deep hunter green, and i don't have the aluminums.
gas mileage clocks in at 10-11 city, and 15-17 highway(under 70)
yay!

My pocket book doesn't like forced induction
I browsed a couple of truck forums and did not see a whole heck of a lot of info on performance on these machines
I would like to get the exhaust free-er flowing and get the nose raised up to even the ride height then I think I would call it a day, maybe some bigger tires when I can afford them.

heh, torque high rev low.
these babies rev to an astounding max if like 5000rpm's lol
but the meal ticket of them is about 280ft-lbs of torque(145hp)
scotty if you need some ideas, i've done custom exhaust on mine, and also a custom intake.
also focinite, i've been attempting to design a twin T3 setup for mine, afterall it has a split manifold, 3 cylinders for each, 2 turbos, an intercooler with 2 inlets and outlets (do they even make these?), routed back to the dual inlet throttle body.
it may not have much hp, but i would venture to guess a HUGE bounce up in torque. helloooo towing capacity!

Exhasut is one of the first things I want to do, but, I am not sure how it is going to sound. I see there is a serperate header for each set of 3 cylinders, I was thinking maybe new headers and then true duals back or something not sure yet.

i'll have my truck at the meet if you wanna take a gander at my setup, took out the secondary cat, slapped on a glasspack with dual outlets, and ran em right out the pass side, its suprisingly quiet, i think the precat is clogged on mine.

for the cooler, if you have a hole saw and a tig welder, you shuold be able to cut into the side tanks and weld fittings for 2 in/2 out. twin t3s would be perfect for that application. i have a guy at work using 2 t3s from the junk yard to build a 88 caprice , t3s work for a lot of things , but if you were to go look, a gerret turbo off a 7.3 dit motor would be better

I have been looking into a few things for the truck already, but, I want to get my garage done first, then, I will be the envy of the neighborhood, as I am in my well-lit up garage this summer, and, I got the ac going in there:)
